I watched the Black Sea tour of the CHP leader at the weekend and conveyed his statements. Today I will share my observations.
* * *
Kılıçdaroğlu is a leader who fits the profile of "One of us" that we met in Ecevit and is now ascribed to Erdoğan.
He is loved by the "man in the street" (and woman) for his manner, attire, simplicity, modesty, family structure, honest official image, lack of questionability, sincere speech, and warm approach.
Beginning with the congress he was the leader of, he consciously changed the priority of the CHP from the alarm of "secularism is going out of hand" to the cry of "poverty oppresses the people". This change in discourse also echoes in the streets. At the rally, for example, the audience silently listened to the chapter "they are taking over the judiciary", the children who died because of the subject, unemployment, etc. When it comes, it starts to react.
CHP supporters are enthusiastic in the fields... But the important thing is the indecisive, wide audience watching with curiosity in the back... Kılıçdaroğlu is actually speaking to them.

On the other side of the coin is a messy image.
Let me give a few examples:
It was a mistake for Kılıçdaroğlu to refer to an "illegally recorded phone recording" to prove the Hezbollah-AKP link, which the government has already admitted. Because he was complaining about illegal wiretapping. The “congregation” puts the recording online in such cases. In legitimate politics, if the registration method is illegal, the policy based on it is also considered illegal. Moreover, when he said, "I haven't listened to it yet, I can't explain it even if I listen," it remained a politically crippled and unnecessary move.
When I said this, Kılıçdaroğlu said, “I didn't bring the tape to the agenda anyway. They found friends,” he said.
Another mistake of the "Friends" was to issue a statement of "resistance" while withdrawing from the commission. The content of the call was vague. The explanation was left to Kılıçdaroğlu. “We just wanted to warn,” he commented. But there was more there. Moreover, it was later realized that it was not known exactly what the resignation would bring or take away.
Another "friend" mistake:
The statement made to the Silivri detainees without a consensus in the party administration on the candidacy put both Kılıçdaroğlu in trouble and drew Balbay and Özkan into an unnecessary polemic. When I reminded him of this, Kılıçdaroğlu defended "We are not a party of obedience, we are very vocal", but at least it is clear that the party administration should speak with one voice... Otherwise, statements that contradict each other constantly give negative points to both the CHP and its leader.

I also saw Kılıçdaroğlu more alone than other leaders I followed.
According to the Prime Minister, who makes a landing with his cabinet wherever he goes, or Bahçeli, who raises the party organization, Kılıçdaroğlu carries out the work with more personal effort. There were no district deputies or new shop window faces with him. The preliminary preparation of the organization was weak in the places it went. Flags, banners, announcements were few. There were problems in communicating with the media. His closest relatives smoke on the bus even though he talks at every stop

It was strange that the General President did not pay attention to his food and sleep.
The CHP leader is taking the campaign with a handful of people for now with a single pistol; but it takes more to choose.
It would be a good start to use the energy spent on correcting the mistakes of “Friends” to create new policy.
