MARCH FOR JUSTICE AND POLITICS

09/07/2017 | Doç. Dr. Ahmet TAN | 369

First of all, let's congratulate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
It is not an easy task for a 69 year old person to walk 432 km for 24 days without a break. Personal performance is admirable.
The second celebration is for the security forces.
For 24 days they also did a good job. They did not allow any outburst to arise.
How will this march reflect on politics?
In my opinion, it will not have a great impact on politics.
Its most important result has consolidated Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's presidency, but for now.
The expected effect of the march for justice depends partly on the expected changes of the white party, and therefore of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, after the referendum.
If the environment is softened a little and tensions can be reduced, this walk may be in vain.
The following should not be overlooked; Opportunities began to emerge in the political market.
The government needs to be very careful about making decisions that harm the public conscience in the management of the 15 July process. On a principled basis, the judiciary and bureaucracy should work very meticulously.
The main theme of the march was justice.
The government should take steps to relax the society in this regard. It should be more inclusive. The language of the heart should come to the fore in politics. As a society, we are very tense. We are so worn out. The work and actions that can be done to reduce this stress should not be postponed any longer.
If these are not done, those who demand justice will be given an opportunity.
And if these opportunities are taken advantage of, unforeseen results may occur in politics.
There is still more to 2019, but with the referendum, Turkey has entered a new era. The yes side on one side and the no side on the other. The difference between the votes is very small.
Therefore, the harmony of the parties or the incompatibility of the parties will determine the future of politics.
Whichever party can read the society well, see the sensitivities of the society and take a position accordingly, will gain in the new process.
In sports terms, the one who makes the fewest mistakes will win.
As a result, the yes side should never underestimate this march for justice.
Democratic culture requires some conclusions to be drawn from this march.
It would be a shame to act like nothing happened.
