A few months ago, we held the 19th National Marketing Congress in Gaziantep.

Around 280 scientists from 71 universities in Turkey and representatives of the private sector devoted to marketing science attended.

After the full academic presentations, our participants were taken to the places that must be visited and seen in Gaziantep and the region within the framework of the social program.

One of these places was Halfeti-Greek Castle.

About 180 people participated in the Greek castle tour.

These were scientists working mainly in the field of "marketing" and naturally, what they had to say about the Greek castle was very important.

First of all, I should make this very clear.

To put it in one sentence; They admired the Greek castle.

They stated that the Greek Castle is a magnificent place, but this magnificent place should be known better.

Of course, it was very important what people working in marketing had to say about this issue.

I would like to share the highlights.

Access to the Greek Castle should be provided by more comfortable ways from both Gaziantep and Halfeti. Existing roads tire both vehicles and passengers.

Greek Castle should be included in the tours

Regular meetings should be held with travel agencies and tour companies operating at the national level, and the Greek Castle should be included in the tour.

Local Authorities should organize economic tours

Free or very low cost regular tours should be made for both domestic visitors and guests from outside Gaziantep. These tours should be made fun and the satisfaction of the visitors should be ensured.

Accommodation opportunities should be created

The opening of more economical hostels rather than multi-star hotels should be encouraged. Precautions should be taken especially for the guests who come to the Greek Castle by their own means to stay in a more decent, comfortable, peaceful and safe way.

Rum Castle should be opened to picnickers

The picnic cultures of Gaziantep and its surrounding provinces are very developed. The existing infrastructure of the Greek castle is not capable of meeting all the picnic demands. For this, new options should be put into service if necessary. Hundreds of barbecues and camellias with fountains can be built on the slopes of the high mountain facing the water on the Halfeti side. By putting these places into service for a daily fee, both employment and income can be provided to the Greek castle.

Security issues and indoor parking should not be neglected

Especially those who come to the Greek castle by their own means should feel safe during the trip. For this, large and secure parking lots for all kinds of vehicles of the visitors are urgently needed. In order to make those who come to the Greek castle comfortable, both the Gaziantep side and the Halfeti side should be located within walking distance of the beach, with multi-storey security covered parking lots for 500-1000-2000 vehicles. In this way, visitors will not only leave their vehicles in a closed and safe area, but also travel comfortably, as well as protect their vehicles from the heat since the Greek castle is a hot region. Again, with the parking lots, employment will be contributed and a good income source will be provided to the district with the parking income.

Social needs areas should not be neglected

Wherever people live, there are many different needs. Emergency medicine available 24 hours a day

centers, security units, WC and shower places, baby breastfeeding rooms, prayer rooms, ATMs, local shopping centers should be considered.

Disabled visitors should not be forgotten

Special tours can be organized for disabled visitors and a first in Turkey can be achieved in this regard. Disabled citizens should be taken from their homes, gathered in a certain center, toured together with private vehicles and left to their homes in the same way.

Water sports should be done more

Water sports for entertainment and competition can be done in places suitable for water sports in the lake basin. It can be ensured that national and international competitions are held here.

Swimming pools should be created

The region is known to be very hot during certain periods. Safe swimming pools should be built in certain places and visitors should be provided to benefit from this clean and cool water.

Service providers should be trained

The satisfaction of the visitors is measured by the quality of the service they receive. In order to provide quality service, it is possible to train everyone who provides the service. Public institutions such as Local Administrations, NGOs, Chambers, and İŞKUR can make programs jointly and everyone who serves here can be trained.
