WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE EDUCATIONAL STATE OF ANTEP!

26/12/2011 | Doç. Dr. Ahmet TAN | 359

An important meeting was held in Gaziantep on 24 December 2011.

The fact that 25 December was just before the liberation day of Gaziantep added even more importance to this meeting.

Minister of National Education Ömer DİNÇER and Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma ŞAHİN were also at the meeting.

Gaziantep Governor, Deputies, District Governors, Mayors, Chamber Presidents, Managers of Public Institutions and Organizations, and Gaziantep residents were there.

There was a warm and beautiful energy in the hall.

The topic of the meeting was “education”.

As you know, Gaziantep seems to have reached a dead end in education.

Our overall success ranking in Turkey ranges from 60 to 80.

The sad thing is that our ranking is getting worse every year.

Of course, no one is happy with this state of affairs.

Gaziantep Governor Erdal ATA, who has just started his duty a few months ago, has devoted almost all of his energy to education.

This well-intentioned and sincere effort of the Governor has created a synergy in Gaziantep.

Every sensitive Gaziantep citizen wants to do something.

There are those who give 1000 TL from their salary to fill the classroom gap, and there are those who will build 5 schools in two years.

I have been in Gaziantep for eight years due to duty.

I always think that I am sensitive to the main problems of Gaziantep.

Of course, education is one of the things that bother me the most.

I am someone who comes to education.

I worked as a lecturer at different universities for ten years.

I'm still thinking about these issues.

I am teaching all three of my children in Gaziantep.

At the same time, I am a good student parent.

I think I have a say.

Before proceeding with the suggestions, I would like to insist on a couple of issues.

An average of 30,000 babies are born in Gaziantep every year.

I think this figure alone is enough to show how difficult and important our job is.

Very rooted and long-term projects should be put into action against population growth.

Another issue is the necessity of conducting research and analysis for teachers.

If necessary, from research institutions for this subject

Academic support can be obtained from universities and it will be seen that the main problem is not only the lack of classrooms.

Now, I would like to list a few suggestions on this subject in order to have the soup and my salt;

All high schools in the city center should be transformed into “pre-school education and primary education”.
"Campus high schools" consisting of hundreds or even thousands of classrooms should be built on suitable lands outside the city.
A serious "rotation" should be carried out in national education, especially in administrators.
Again, especially administrators and those working in national education should undergo a serious "pedagogical formation".
All other staff working in schools should undergo in-service training.
“Shuttle Drivers” should be strictly supervised and undergo serious training.
Guidance service should be provided in “school services”.
Families of students should be included in education and “guidance service for families” should be provided.
All students should be given “motivational” education.
