Democracy
A government is a form of government in which all citizens have an equal right to shape organization or state policy.
Although it is generally considered as a form of state administration, universities, workers' and employers' organizations and some other non-governmental institutions and organizations can also be governed by democracy.
The reason why democracy has become the most widely used state system today, standing out from other forms of government, is considered to work better than other management systems.
The debate on the definition of democracy is still an ongoing debate today.
Some of the reasons for this include the use of the definition of democracy by some institutions in the countries to justify their views, the efforts of non-democratic states to promote themselves as democratic, and the use of democracy, which is actually a general concept, on its own.
Democracy; Many different references are made, such as the rule of the majority, the government that guarantees the rights of the minority, the government of the poor, the government that tries to eliminate social inequality, the government that tries to provide equal opportunity, the government that relies on the support of the people to render public service.
The common feature of democracies, whether majority, minority, poor or rich, is that they are based on the people. people in daily life
Although it is thought to cover all people living in a country, in practice, a limitation has been placed on the people since the history of democracy.
For example, in the elections held after the French Revolution, the right to vote was granted only to citizens who could pay a certain amount of tax. In the USA, the first black race in the southern states could vote in the 1960s. Women were first given the right to vote in New Zealand in 1893.
The right to participate in the elections was not given in any country until the 20th century.
If we add to these data the situation of disagreement arising from the will of the individuals who make up the public; in practice, the people becomes the meaning of the majority.
As can be seen in the references to democracy, self-government of the people is the basic premise.
This is achieved through direct influence, such as referendums, or indirectly, such as rallies and demonstrations, as well as voting, which allows to elect people who will make decisions on their behalf.
After this theoretical information, where is the place of our democracy?
Or where is our democracy headed?
Until a few years ago, it was possible to answer this question in a very comfortable way.
But whatever happened, something happened to us in the last few years.
Our old diseases are gone!
Comfort is too much for us!
We misunderstood democracy!
We were very, very complacent.
That's why our democracy will take its place on the dusty shelves for a while!
After the man scratching his navel, coal maker, pasta maker, reactionary, shepherd, the concept of "dishonest people" entered our democracy literature.
The words are like "lead"!
We left the brotherhood aside.
I don't know how far we can go with the seeds of hatred and hatred.
If the politics in our democracy are not capable of solving problems, we have a long way to go.
God help us.
